Sculpture by Jonna Ramey
Carving stone is like breathing; it feels so right, so automatic. Working with hand tools – hammers, chisels and rasps – allows me time to connect with the stone, my memory, and my self. This organic dialog is at the heart of my sculpture. It is a way to examine thoughts, emotions, cultural concerns, myths and taboos.
